Join us as we strive to ensure a sustainable future for our communities and the world, we live in.

Become part of our global network of skilled engineers, scientists, auditors, planners, and environmental specialists, all working together to leave this world better than we found it.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for an Environmental Human Health / Ecological Risk Assessor to join our team! In this role, you will be involved in conducting ecological and/or human health risk assessments (ERA/HHRA), natural resource damages assessments (NRDA), or product stewardship evaluations to support a variety of remediation and environmental projects across the US.

At GHD, our Risk Assessors are typically engaged in projects that apply risk assessment and risk management strategies to support contaminated site decision-making under Federal, state, and international site cleanup programs. This includes supporting and implementing site characterization and remedial action projects that involve efforts to identify and control potentially unacceptable human and ecological exposures to chemicals in the environment.

In an ever changing world, it requires creativity and innovation to stay ahead.

Working with an energetic and hard-working team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Perform or lead NRDAs
  • Develop work plans and oversee field investigations to support ERA, HHRA, and NRDA
  • Perform product stewardship related activities, which could include regulatory (e.g., TSCA, Prop65) compliance, product evaluation/substitution
  • Analyze data and prepare reports, technical memoranda, and correspondence
  • Support emergency response activities, especially related to chemical fate and transport and toxicology
  • Interact and communicate with environmental risk assessment scientists, engineers, and project managers throughout GHD network
  • Communicate directly with external and internal clients and regulatory agencies throughout North America (and potentially internationally)
  • Actively engage in technical and trade organizations, including for the purpose of business development
  • Manage multiple projects and support various project teams
  • Mentor and coach Young Professionals within the risk assessment group

What you will bring to the team:

  • Master’s or PhD in Biology, Ecology, Ecotoxicology, Toxicology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related technical field
  • 7-12 years of experience with Ecological and Human Health Risk Assessment and/or Natural Resource Damage Assessment
  • Excellent quantitative skill and experience in data analysis, biostatistics, etc.
  • Willingness to travel throughout North America
  • Experience working directly with industrial clients

Salary Range: $120,000-$180,000 based on experience.
