Job summary

County of Tulare, Health and Human Services Agency, Visalia, seeks a leader to plan, supervise, and evaluate environmental health staff within environmental quality control. You will advise on laws, regulations, and policies, and help develop new programs and procedures to protect public health.

Role supports field staff, EH Specialists and Dairy Inspectors, with complex problems and enforcement guidance. Eligibility includes a relevant degree and state certifications where required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental health, science, agriculture or related field.
• Alternative qualifications may apply per Title 17, Article 1, Section 7941.
• Three years as a registered environmental health specialist or dairy inspector.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and evaluate environmental health staff.
• Advise on interpretation and application of laws, ordinances, regulations and policies.
• Develop and implement programs and procedures.
• Instruct field staff in inspection and enforcement methods.
• Advise and assist EH Specialists and Dairy Inspectors on complex problems.
