BCforward in Johnston, IA seeks a Safety, Health, and Environmental Technician for a 12-month contract. Under supervision you will provide general clerical and administrative support to safety, health, and environmental activities, and may collect field data or operate safety equipment in the field.

This role requires ability to perform basic data entry, stand/walk through shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull carts, and work in a laboratory setting with chemicals.

Qualifications

• Proficient data entry and basic computer tasks.
• Able to stand/walk for long periods during shift.
• Capable of performing routine lifts up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable handling chemicals and working in a laboratory environment.

Responsabilités

• Provide clerical support to EHS activities under supervision.
• Assist in field data collection and handling safety equipment.
• Support permits, inspections, and documentation per procedures.
• Help ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company policies.

Job Title: Safety, Health, and Environment Technician

Location: Johnston IA

Duration: Contract 12 months

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8am-4pm)

Under direct supervision and within established procedures, provides general clerical and administrative support to safety, health, and environmental activities.

May collect field data and/or maintain/operate safety equipment in the field.

Must be able to:

• Perform basic computer skills such as data entry
• Be on your feet walking for most of the day
• Perform routine lifts of 20-30 lbs. with occasional lifts up to 50 lbs.
• Push/pull carts with materials
• Be comfortable working with chemicals and within a laboratory environment

Optional Bonus Skills:

• 1+ years of hazardous waste handling experience is a plus;
• 1+ years of chemical or laboratory experience is a plus;

Duties:

• Support EHS&S team with permits, inspections, documentation, and calibration or certification of equipment using established processes/procedures.
• Assist in characterization, collection, transport, and creating profiles of regulated and non-regulated hazardous waste.
• Assist with the final preparation and approval of all projects before shipment in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and company policies;
• Ensures drum count is correct and that drum conditions are shippable in accordance our company's policies and procedure.
