Job description

The EHS Manager for Remote Sites and Global Compliance will be responsible for managing EHS risk and compliance for the San Jose campus as well as ADI’s regional sales offices and design centers in North America. This role also entails championing company-wide EHS programs in support of ADI’s worldwide manufacturing operations. The position will report to ADI’s Sr. Director of Global EHS in our San Jose, CA campus and include managing and mentoring two EHS engineers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

EHS management of San Jose and North America satellite locations :

  • Ensuring a safe workplace for employees, contractors, and visitors while ensuring compliance with applicable permits and state and federal regulations.
  • Proactive implementation and management of various Environmental, Health & Safety programs including contractor permitting and control, confined space, lock-out tag-out, fall arrest, personal protective equipment, hazard communication, job hazard analysis, industrial hygiene monitoring, electrical safety, hazardous waste, etc.
  • Maintaining robust programs for chemical approval, regulatory review, incident notification & reporting, equipment evaluation & review, and contractor management.
  • Supervising hazardous waste storage, inspection, and shipping activities for the site to comply with all state and federal regulations.
  • Providing quarterly metrics updates to the Global EHS team
  • Working with other groups (Facilities, labs, BU’s) to identify and mitigate safety issues, reduce injuries, and enhance safety culture.
  • Facilitating EHS due diligence for site purchases, consolidations, and closures

EHS Global Compliance :

  • Maintaining multi-site certification to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Participating in the development of corporate EHS standards to document minimum, standardized requirements to drive first-in-class safety and environmental performance and ensure efficiency in our operations.
  • Developing and managing a corporate EHS audit program to ensure site compliance to EHS standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participating in sustainability initiatives and improving performance in GHG reduction, energy and water consumption, and landfill reduction.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • BS Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Engineering, Science, or related technical field
  • At least 7 years of Environmental, Health and Safety experience
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations as well as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead projects across the organization and influence peers
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and working effectively with peers, building consensus and fostering collaboration among internal and external parties.
  • Attention to detail and demonstration of analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Experience in engaging with 3rd parties, e.g., regulatory agencies, industry consortia, standards bodies
  • Understanding of developing & using metrics to analyze data to allow better data driven decision making
  • Ability to travel (20%)

Desired Qualifications :

  • Semiconductor or electronics industry experience
  • Strong background in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, and / or sustainability, but with some exposure or familiarity to all aspects.
  • Experience with industry consortia, e.g., SIA, SESHA, SEMI.
  • Chemical management experience; knowledge of RoHS, REACH, GHS, and TSCA.

Job Req Type : ExperiencedRequired Travel : Yes, 25% of the timeShift Type : 1st Shift / DaysThe wage range for a new hire into this position is $149,960 to $206,195.

Actual wage offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, training, external market data, internal equity, or other bona fide factors.

This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
