Job summary

ebm-papst is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Technician to support the organization’s safety, compliance, and environmental initiatives in Tennessee. The role partners with the EHS Manager and cross-functional teams to strengthen the safety culture and environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities include policy maintenance, regulatory adherence, inspections, incident investigations, data reporting, training support, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Engineering or related field.
• Foundational knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT and related compliance standards
• 1-3 years of relevant experience
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to interpret technical documents and perform basic measurements and calculations

• Collect, analyze, and report safety and environmental performance data.
• Prepare training materials, assist with hands-on instruction, and maintain training records.
• Maintain EHS logs, permits, inspection records, and audit documentation.
• Assist with waste management, recycling programs, emissions tracking, and spill prevention.
• Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to promote a proactive safety culture.

This role plays a key part in daily EHS operations, including regulatory compliance, safety inspections, environmental monitoring, training support, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Technician works closely with the EHS Manager and cross-functional teams to strengthen the company’s safety culture and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

• EHS Program Support - Standardize and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs. Assist EHS manager as needed.
