Job summary

Veranova is seeking an EHS Specialist II for our Devens, MA site to develop and implement safety programs that protect employees, contractors, and visitors. You will partner with operations to identify hazards, maintain regulatory compliance, investigate incidents, and foster a strong safety culture.

This on-site role runs 8AM-5PM, Monday–Friday. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, risk assessments, and training on PPE, emergency response, and safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, engineering, science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in an EHS related position.
• Knowledge of occupational safety regulations, hazard identification, risk assessment methodologies, and safety management systems.
• Experience supporting or managing safety programs, inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and training skills with the ability to influence safe work practices at all levels of the organization.
• Professional safety certification such as ASP, CSP, CHST, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical manufacturing, or regulated industry preferred.
• Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time while in plant, reaching, handling, twisting, and bending spine at waist if operating equipment.

Role Overview:

The EHS Safety Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving site safety programs to protect employees, contractors, and visitors. This role partners with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to identify hazards, maintain regulatory compliance, investigate incidents, deliver safety training, and foster a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

This is an on-site role at our Devens, MA site with expected hours 8AM-5PM M-F.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this role is $105,000–$115,000. This range represents a good‑faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. In exceptional cases, compensation may exceed the stated range.

All full-time employees are eligible to participate in our annual incentive bonus program. Bonus targets vary by career level and are based on individual and company performance.
