Job summary

Mallard Manufacturing is hiring an EHS Engineer for our Sterling, Illinois facility. You will join the EHS team to support the safety strategy and help design and implement world-class EHS systems toward Mission Zero.

Responsibilities include policy development, risk assessments, audits, training, and environmental program management, with a focus on OSHA/EPA compliance and recordkeeping. Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of manufacturing EHS experience required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of EHS experience in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards (ISO-14001/ISO-45001) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce EHS policies and procedures for ISO-14001/ISO-45001 compliance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify safety/environmental hazards.
  • Perform safety audits and facility inspections to monitor compliance and hazards.
  • Provide training on EHS protocols and emergency response.
  • Develop and maintain environmental programs (waste management, pollution control, sustainability).
  • Investigate accidents to determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Maintain OSHA logs and EHS records; ensure regulatory reporting.

Role Summary

MacLean-Fogg (Mallard) is hiring an EHS Engineer at our Sterling, Illinois facility. In this role, you will be a key member of MacLean-Fogg’s EHS team and supports the execution of our overall safety strategy and goals. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the design and implementation of world class EHS systems as we work towards Mission Zero.

  • Pay: $65,000 - $85,000

What You’ll Do as an EHS Engineer
  • Develop and enforce EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations of ISO-14001/ISO-45001 certification pertaining to company operations.
  • Perform regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety and environmental hazards.
  • Conduct routine safety audits and facility inspections to monitor compliance and detect potential hazards.
  • Provide training to employees on EHS protocols, safety procedures, and emergency response.
  • Develop and maintain environmental programs, including waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure the organization complies with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Environmental Programs: Develop and maintain environmental programs, including waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to EHS activities, including incident reports and compliance audits.
  • Maintains OSHA logs, EHS records, and reporting for internal and external use.

  • Education: Bachelor's
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in EHS or related field within a manufacturing environment.
