Voyager Technologies in Penrose, CO is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of EHS programs across manufacturing and laboratory operations. The role will be located onsite in Penrose and will eventually transition to Pueblo, CO.

You will assist with regulatory compliance, hazard identification, records management, training coordination, and incident follow-up to drive a safe and compliant work environment

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of OSHA general industry standards and applicable federal and state environmental and safety regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct workplace inspections, identify hazards, and communicate findings clearly in written and verbal formats.
• Strong organizational skills with experience maintaining compliance documentation, training records, and logs in a regulated industrial environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn and utilize safety management or training tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the EHS team in maintaining compliance with OSHA, explosives, DOT/PHMSA, DoD manuals and environmental standards.
• Conduct facility walk-throughs and hazard assessments to identify unsafe conditions and support corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate EHS records including training logs, inspection reports, incident documentation, SDS files and calendars.
• Assist in delivering and coordinating safety training programs and track completion.
• Support documentation for workplace incidents and track corrective/preventive actions to closure.

The Environment Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of EHS programs across manufacturing and laboratory operations at Voyager Energetics Inc.

The position reports to the Safety and Compliance Manager and will be located onsite in Penrose, CO and will eventually transition to our Pueblo, CO location .

In this role, the essential functions are:

• Regulatory Compliance Support Assist the EHS team in maintaining and monitoring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, ATF explosives, DOT/PHMSA, DoD Contractor Safety Manual 4145.26, DODM 5100.76 (AA&E), and applicable environmental standards.
• Hazard Identification & Workplace Inspections Conduct routine facility walk-throughs and hazard assessments to identify unsafe conditions, document findings, and support corrective action tracking under the direction of senior EHS staff.
• Safety Documentation & Records Management Maintain accurate EHS records including training logs, inspection reports, incident documentation, SDS files, and compliance calendars in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Training & Safety Culture Support Assist in the delivery and coordination of safety training programs including new hire onboarding, job-specific hazard communication, and annual refresher training; track completion and maintain training records.
• Incident Investigation Support Assist with documentation and follow-up for workplace incidents, near misses, and environmental events, including tracking corrective and preventive actions to closure.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in environmental health & safety, occupational safety, or a related field with 1 year of experience OR Masters degree in a related field with 0 years of experience OR 5 or more years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health & Safety roles in lieu of a degree OR High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3 or more years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health & Safety roles.
• Working knowledge of OSHA general industry standards and applicable federal and state environmental and safety regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct workplace inspections, identify hazards, and communicate findings clearly in written and verbal formats.
• Strong organizational skills with experience maintaining compliance documentation, training records, and logs in a regulated industrial environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn and utilize safety management or training tracking systems.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• Experience in a manufacturing, chemical, defense, or industrial environment with exposure to explosives regulations, HazMat handling, or DOT/PHMSA requirements.
• Current OSHA 10 or 30-Hour certification, First Aid/CPR, or other relevant EHS credential.

Government Mandated Requirements:

• Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain applicable state and federal explosives licenses, including minimum age requirements (21 and over), a drug-free workplace in compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 (41 U.S.C. 81018106), Executive Order 12564 (Drug-Free Federal Workplace), applicable Department of Defense directives including DoD Instruction 1010.09 and DFARS 252.226-7003 and successful completion of any legally required background investigations.
• To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

The good faith base salary range for this role is $55,000$75,000 annually at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
