RTX in Decorah, IA is offering an on-site co-op opportunity in Environmental Health & Safety. You will help implement the EH&S management system, support the site EH&S team, and contribute to strategies for reducing risk across manufacturing processes.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Health, or related STEM fields and must remain enrolled during the program. CAD and 3D modeling experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Health, or related STEM field.
• Actively enrolled in a degree program during the co-op session.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the EH&S management system and programs at the site.

• Assist in developing strategies and policies for continuous EH&S improvement.
• Support site projects and contractor safety programs.
• Understand site processes and equipment and manage related hazards and risks.

What You Will Do

• Implement and maintain the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) management system and programs.
• Provide critical EH&S support to the site EH&S generalist, ensuring all site actions are completed promptly and safely.
• Assist in developing strategies and policies to drive continuous improvement in EH&S.
• Support site projects and contractor safety programs.
• Gain an understanding of the site’s processes and equipment, identify relevant hazards, and ensure associated risks are maintained at acceptable levels.

• Experience with CAD and 3D modeling.
• Knowledge of EH&S regulations and compliance standards.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
