Job summary

Intrepid Potash, Inc. in Moab, Utah, is seeking an Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality Technician to support safe, compliant, and quality operations on a day shift.

This role offers hands-on inspections, data collection, and active involvement in continuous improvement within a mining and processing environment. You will conduct routine inspections and audits, collect samples, maintain records, assist with environmental permitting and investigations, and help document corrective actions

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with the ability to follow written procedures and safety rules.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures, safety rules, sampling instructions, and routine technical documents.
• Basic math, computer, data entry, and recordkeeping skills; ability to learn Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other company systems.
• Strong attention to detail and clear professional communication; ability to work independently after training and across departments.
• Preferred: coursework or experience in environmental science, occupational safety, chemistry, or related field; or prior EHSQ, laboratory, mining, or manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, EHSQ observations, and audits of work areas, equipment, environmental controls, and operations.
• Collect environmental, process, product, and quality samples and perform routine laboratory tasks, including sample prep and basic instrument checks.
• Enter, verify, organize, and maintain EHSQ data, inspection records, laboratory records, training records, permits, and other controlled documents.
• Support environmental permitting, compliance activities, incident investigations, and quality nonconformance investigations by gathering information and maintaining records.
• Help document, track, verify, and close corrective and preventive actions while maintaining field and laboratory equipment.
• Support orientations, EHSQ communications, meetings, toolbox talks, training materials, routine reports, and continuous improvement activities.

What You Will Need to Be Successful in the Role

• High school diploma or GED, along with a valid driver’s license and the ability to meet company driving requirements.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures, safety rules, sampling instructions, and routine technical documents.
• Basic math, computer, data entry, and recordkeeping skills, plus the ability to learn Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other company systems.
• Strong attention to detail, clear professional communication skills, and the ability to work independently after training and collaboratively across departments.
• Preferred: Coursework, technical training, or education in environmental science, occupational safety, chemistry, laboratory science, quality, or a related field; or prior EHSQ, laboratory, industrial, mining, manufacturing, or field experience.
