Job summary

Intrepid Potash Inc. is seeking an Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality Technician for our mining and processing operation on the day shift in Utah.

You will conduct inspections, collect samples, and maintain EHSQ records to ensure safe, compliant, and quality operations. The role requires a high school diploma or GED with a valid driver’s license and the ability to read procedures and follow safety rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, along with a valid driver’s license and the ability to meet company driving requirements.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures, safety rules, sampling instructions, and routine technical documents.
• Basic math, computer, data entry, and recordkeeping skills, plus the ability to learn Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other company systems.
• Strong attention to detail, clear professional communication skills, and the ability to work independently after training and collaboratively across departments.
• Preferred: Coursework, technical training, or education in environmental science, occupational safety, chemistry, laboratory science, quality, or a related field; or prior EHSQ, laboratory, industrial, mining, manufacturing, or field experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, EHSQ observations, and audits of work areas, equipment, environmental controls, and operational activities.
• Collect environmental, process, product, and quality samples and perform routine laboratory tasks, including sample preparation, basic instrument checks, testing, and result reporting.
• Enter, verify, organize, and maintain EHSQ data, inspection records, laboratory records, training records, permits, photographs, and other controlled documents.
• Support environmental permitting, compliance activities, incident investigations, and quality nonconformance investigations by gathering information and maintaining accurate records.
• Help document, track, verify, and close corrective and preventive actions while maintaining assigned field and laboratory equipment.
• Support orientations, EHSQ communications, meetings, toolbox talks, training materials, routine reports, and continuous improvement activities.
