Job summary
Nova Southwestern University in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a part-time Environmental Health Project Assistant to support an EPA-funded study on sewer and septic maintenance, community resilience, and homeowner surveys. You will assist with survey coordination, literature reviews, data management, GIS mapping, and basic statistical analyses using R/SAS/SPSS/Stata.
Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential.
Qualifications
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; additional degrees preferred.
- Experience with data entry, literature reviews, and basic analysis.
- Familiarity with GIS and Census data is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Assists with coordination and implementation of homeowner surveys.
- Conducts literature reviews and summarizes scientific findings.
- Assists with data entry, cleaning, and database management.
- Supports acquisition, organization, and management of ACS and Census data.
- Assists with GIS mapping and geocoding using ArcGIS Pro.
- Creates tables, charts, maps, and summary reports.
- Assists with basic statistical analyses using R, SPSS, SAS, Stata, or similar software.
- Supports preparation of reports, presentations, manuscripts and outreach materials.
- Attends project meetings and maintains project documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
