Job summary

Hennepin County is seeking a Community Health Specialist to join the Public Health Promotion program. The role focuses on creating school environments that support and encourage physical activity through walking and biking to school, aligning with our mission to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce health disparities.

This position offers an intermittent appointment with non-permanent hours capped at 1,039 per year, and up to six months total.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, community health, or health education.
  • Three years (or more) of experience planning and implementing health promotion activities.
  • A valid driver's license with no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with external customers.
  • Ability to demonstrate the employee competencies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and consultation to schools on activities that encourage walking and biking to school.
  • Assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of walking and biking to school activities.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, school staff, and parent volunteers.
  • Prepare project related documents such as promotional materials, grant reports, and evaluation tools.

This area seeks a Community Health Specialist to join its team. The Duties And Responsibilities Of This Position Include

  • Assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of walking and biking to school activities.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, school staff, and parent volunteers.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
