Job summary

Walworth County is seeking an Environmental Health Coordinator to lead the Environmental Health program, guiding staff and coordinating countywide services under the Health Officer’s direction.

The role oversees two Environmental Health Specialists, ensures lab operations and water quality activities meet state requirements, and drives implementation of policies, contracts, and performance objectives for environmental health across the county.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or closely related field with progressive leadership experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with Wisconsin Public Health Statutes and environmental health codes is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision for Environmental Health Specialists and oversee day-to-day operations of the Environmental Health program.
• Coordinate planning, development, implementation and evaluation of countywide Environmental Health services.
• Develop objectives, monitor outcomes, and ensure deliverables meet funding requirements and contracts.
• Maintain lab operations including water quality monitoring, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Lead onboarding, training, and performance development for staff; manage budgets and contracts.
