The Environmental Health Plan Review Engineer position provides professional engineering support through the review, evaluation, and approval of plans related to food and lodging establishments to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Work involves consultation with local environmental health departments, architects, contractors, and engineers to assess designs, layouts, and equipment specifications for construction and remodeling projects. This position functions within a technical regulatory environment that requires interpreting engineering principles, assessing environmental and safety impacts, and applying established rules and guidelines. Responsibilities also include preparing instructional materials and delivering plan review training to Environmental Health Specialists to support consistency in statewide regulatory practices. The role requires independent judgment in managing technically complex assignments and providing technical guidance to stakeholders.
Salary Grade Range: $63,927.00 - $111,871.00 Recruitment Range: $63,927.00 - $84,274.00

Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of engineering from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
