Job summary

Civicworks is seeking an OPS Environmental Health Specialist for the Department of Health to perform specialized environmental inspections and permit work across Hernando County.

You will conduct site evaluations, issue permits, investigate complaints, enforce regulations, and prepare legal cases, with coverage extending to biomedical waste facilities, food service, pools, and water systems.

Qualifications

• Department of Health certification in Onsite Sewage program within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of statutory and rule requirements for environmental health and applicable codes and regulations.
• Ability to conduct inspections, perform site evaluations, and prepare legal documentation.
• Experience with permit application reviews and enforcement actions.
• Ability to investigate complaints and gather evidence for legal proceedings.
