Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist needed for a Contract/Contract to Hire opportunity with SOC's client to work onsite in Philadelphia, PA.
Contract Length: 6-7 months, likely to convert to client FTE
This position starts in the Philadelphia, PA office, but will move to the Camden, NJ office around November or December.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring company environment, health and safety (EHS) programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental health and safety regulations.
- Work to reduce company risk and liability in all aspects of EHS.
- Assists in a variety of duties to include, sampling, observations, training and inspections.
- Works with stakeholders in the organization during space planning, building expansions and/or other changes in facilities or work areas to ensure EHS requirements and regulations are met.
- Assists with root cause analysis when EHS incidents occur and recommends corrective action where environmental, health and safety hazards exist.
- Responsible for monitoring and driving sustainability initiatives.
- Conduct and document weekly safety walks with leadership team.
- Support ergonomic assessments and injury prevention efforts.
- Provide proactive safety engagement on the manufacturing floor.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (ideally in an engineering or technical field) with minimum 2-5 years of EHS experience OR 6+ years of EHS experience if no Bachelor's Degree.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA labor standards.
- Understand any ergonomic work to prevent injuries.
- Engaging/able to work closely with people.
- Attention to detail.
- Collaborative, works well with others.
Employment Prerequisites
The following requirements must be met to be eligible for this position: successful completion of a background investigation and drug urinalysis.
