Job summary

Sofidel America seeks an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager for our Lewiston, ID manufacturing facility. You will lead safety, health, and environmental programs to ensure regulatory compliance and a culture of safety.

Responsibilities include developing policies, training, audits, and incident management while coordinating with risk and insurance partners. A Bachelor’s in related fields and 5+ years of EHS experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of EHS experience in an industrial environment.
• Strong leadership, influencing and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communications skills with internal and external personnel.
• Demonstrated ability to generate and drive significant performance and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, manuals, and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and corporate safety and environmental regulations.
• Design and conduct training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers to reinforce a safety-first culture.
• Oversee emergency action plans for employee and facility safety.
• Manage workers' compensation claims, liaising with insurance carriers and brokers as necessary.
• Observe and coach employees on safe work behaviors and best practices.
• Oversee PPE inventory and distribution to ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements.
• Prepare and manage the safety budget, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.
• Maintain ISO 45001:2018 certification.

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and implement safety, health, and environmental programs within our Lewiston, ID manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for driving a culture of safety compliance, environmental responsibility, and regulatory adherence while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and corporate standards.

Job Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, manuals, and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and corporate safety and environmental regulations.
• Design and conduct training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers to reinforce a safety-first culture.
• Oversee emergency action plans for employee and facility safety.
• Manage and facilitate new employee and contractor safety orientations.
• Act as the safety representative for all new equipment installations.
• Lead Safety Committee meetings and promote active employee engagement in safety initiatives.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
• Manage workers' compensation claims, liaising with insurance carriers and brokers as necessary.
• Observe and coach employees on safe work behaviors and best practices.
• Oversee PPE inventory and distribution to ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements.
• Prepare and manage the safety budget, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.
• Act as the facility security administrator, ensuring workplace security measures align with company policies.
• Stay current on industry best practices and regulatory changes, integrating new developments into safety programs.
• Maintain and promote ISO 45001:2018 certification.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years' EHS experience in industrial environment.
• Strong leadership, influencing and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communications skills with both internal and external personnel.
• Demonstrated ability to generate and drive significant performance and process improvements.
