Job summary

Ardagh Group in Indiana is seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager to oversee plant safety operations and actively support the Environmental, Health, and Safety program. You will focus on preventing injuries and ensuring compliance across the site.

Lead and monitor EHS initiatives, mentor staff, and communicate with workers, visitors, and regulators. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to drive improvements.

Qualifications

  • Three years of environmental health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret OSHA, EPA, and related safety/environmental regulations.
  • Excellent communication with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement of EHS programs.

  • Identify and correct hazardous activities and ensure safety training is conducted as required.

  • Represent the company as the EHS subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit EHS reports and records to regulators and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on EHS trends, policies, and best practices.

Role Description

The Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager will be responsible for overseeing all safety operations at their designated plant. This role will support and monitor the Environmental, Health, and Safety program for the plant with a focus on preventing and controlling occupational injuries and illnesses.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement of environmental health and safety programs.
  • Manage programs to protect the health and safety of company employees, visitors, and contractors, and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Identify and correct potentially hazardous activities and ensure employees are informed of safety and health protocols, and that training is conducted as required.
  • Promote safe and professional work practices and conditions that are compliant with environmental, health, and safety policies and regulations.
  • Report any EHS incident, root cause analysis results, corrective actions, and communication to internal and external stakeholders into the Ardagh Glass Packaging ARMs system.
  • Represent the company as the EHS subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit EHS reports, assessments, and records to internal stakeholders and external regulatory agencies.
  • Keep abreast of the latest EHS trends, policies, regulations, and best practices.
  • Comply with environmental and food safety standards as set forth in plant policies and programs within departmental responsibilities.
Minimum Skills / Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of environmental health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High level of independent thinking and ability to resolve regulatory and technical issues to best advise management on health and safety matters.
  • Ability to interpret OSHA, EPA, and related safety/environmental regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Safety Management, Environmental Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a management role.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM).
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • ISO 14001/45001 experience.
  • Experience in creating Power BI dashboards.
