Job summary

Software Placement Group, SPG, on behalf of our client, seeks an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety Manager for its Anderson, South Carolina facility. Lead the EHS function, ensuring OSHA/EPA compliance while aligning with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.

You will oversee audits, incident investigations, training, emergency planning, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, Quality, and Materials.

Qualifications

• Proven Environmental, Health and Safety experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for EHS programs, policies, and initiatives across the facility.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations at all levels.
• Maintain and improve EHS management systems aligned with ISO standards.
• Develop and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and hazard analyses.
• Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, implementing corrective actions.
• Deliver EHS orientation and training for employees, supervisors, and contractors.

Location: Anderson, South Carolina | Schedule: Full-Time, Permanent, on-site | Compensation: $110,000–$120,000 per annum (negotiable on experience)

Overview

Our client is a forward-thinking global manufacturing company that designs, develops, and produces high-quality plastic components and assemblies for the automotive, industrial, and healthcare sectors, leveraging advanced blow-molding and injection-molding technologies. As the organization continues to grow through capital investment, acquisitions, and organic expansion, it is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to lead and enhance the EHS function at its manufacturing facility in Anderson, South Carolina.

What you'll do

• Provide leadership and direction for all Environmental, Health and Safety programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives across the facility.
• Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, and federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Manage, maintain, and continuously improve the site's EHS management systems, supporting alignment with standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, safe working practices, and regulatory compliance programs.
• Conduct routine safety audits, workplace inspections, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and hazard-identification activities.
• Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, environmental incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and deliver EHS orientation, training, and awareness programs for employees, supervisors, managers, contractors, and other site personnel.
• Coordinate emergency response plans, business preparedness programs, evacuation procedures, drills, and site response activities.
• Oversee environmental compliance programs relating to waste management, air emissions, chemical handling, spill prevention, water discharge, and other operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate EHS records, permits, documentation, regulatory reports, and required submissions, ensuring audit readiness.
• Establish, monitor, analyze, and report on EHS performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending actions to reduce risk and improve performance.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Human Resources, Quality, and Materials Management to ensure equipment, processes, projects, and working practices meet EHS requirements.
• Participate in the evaluation, installation, commissioning, and modification of equipment and manufacturing processes to address potential EHS risks.
• Manage relationships with external service providers, consultants, contractors, waste-management companies, equipment vendors, and regulatory agencies.
• Support regulatory inspections, insurance audits, customer assessments, and corporate EHS reviews, coordinating responses and corrective actions.
• Promote employee participation in safety programs and foster a culture of accountability, hazard awareness, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement.
• Remain current with changes in EHS legislation, regulatory requirements, industry standards, and manufacturing best practices, communicating impacts to site leadership.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute EHS strategies aligned with operational priorities and business objectives.

Required qualifications

• Proven Environmental, Health and Safety experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA requirements and applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, managing, and continuously improving comprehensive EHS programs and management systems.
• Experience conducting workplace inspections, compliance audits, job hazard analyses, risk assessments, and ergonomic evaluations.
• Proven ability to lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Experience developing and delivering engaging EHS training programs to employees, supervisors, managers, and contractors.
• Strong understanding of emergency response planning, hazardous-material handling, waste management, environmental compliance, and workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into clear, practical policies, procedures, and operational controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience using EHS metrics and trend analysis to drive measurable performance improvements.
• Excellent communication, organizational, influencing, and relationship-management skills across multiple departments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate documentation, and operate effectively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Previous EHS experience within plastics, blow molding, injection molding, and/or automotive manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of environmental and occupational health and safety management standards, including ISO 14001 and ISO 4501, is highly desirable.
• Professional EHS certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or an equivalent qualification is desirable.

Compensation and benefits

• Base salary: $110,000–$120,000 per annum, negotiable on experience.
