Job summary

HW Staffing Solutions is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator (Bilingual) for our Enfield, CT facility. The role focuses on implementing safety policies, facility inspections, and OSHA compliance to create a safe manufacturing environment.

The candidate will conduct training, carry out incident investigations, maintain SDS, and collaborate with HR and maintenance on safety matters. 3–5 years in safety/EHS and a related Bachelor's degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of safety/ EH&S experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular facility inspections to identify hazards and document findings.
• Develop and maintain inspection policies, procedures and schedules.
• Establish health and safety procedures for all areas of the facility.
• Deliver safety training on the production floor and monthly sessions.
• Monitor compliance with safety policies and training requirements.
• Coordinate with HR on safety onboarding and reporting.
• Assist with machine guarding and new equipment safety implementations.

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator (Bilingual)

Salary: $70,000 per year

Reports To: Plant Manager

Position Summary

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator is responsible for implementing and maintaining workplace safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant manufacturing environment. This role focuses on facility inspections, employee safety training, incident investigations, OSHA compliance, and continuous improvement of workplace safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular facility inspections to identify safety, health, and environmental hazards. Document findings and upload reports into the EHS system.
• Develop and maintain inspection policies, procedures, and schedules.
• Establish and implement health and safety procedures for all areas of the facility.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to support compliance on the manufacturing production floor.
• Plan and conduct monthly training sessions covering workplace safety, emergency procedures, and other relevant topics.
• Monitor employee compliance with safety policies, procedures, and training requirements.
• Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensure they are readily accessible to employees.
• Participate in incident and accident investigations, conduct 5-Why root cause analyses, and report DART injuries in the EHS system in coordination with Corporate EHS and insurance providers.
• Coordinate with local urgent care facilities regarding return-to-work plans and light-duty restrictions.
• Partner with HR to track and report monthly hours worked and assist with employee onboarding related to safety policies and procedures.
• Work with supervisors and maintenance personnel on machine guarding, new equipment implementation, and weekly toolbox talks.
• Participate in the employee safety committee.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in safety management, environmental health and safety, or a related field required.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to conduct facility inspections and carry inspection equipment.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer.
