A Day in the Life

Our Durham laboratory is seeking a GC Prep Technician responsible for sample preparation, reagent preparation, sample extraction, and maintaining lab safety and organization. Tasks are performed under the supervision of a Group Leader to meet client expectations and ensure data integrity.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing samples for GC analysis
  • Preparing reagents for lab use and shipment
  • Performing sample extractions
  • Determining sample volumes
  • Cleaning lab glassware
  • Maintaining lab organization and records
  • Assisting with inventory and consumables
  • Adhering to quality assurance and safety policies
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field preferred

Preferred Skills:

  • Laboratory experience preferred but not required
  • GC experience highly preferred
  • Knowledge of analytical methods, instruments, and lab safety
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
