Job summary

University Health System- San Antonio seeks a dedicated floor care technician to perform routine cleaning and maintain hygienic, orderly facilities in compliance with Joint Commission and Texas Health guidelines.

You will operate floor cleaning equipment, report maintenance defects, assist the Team Leader with cleanup and disposal, and uphold positive guest relations and safety standards across all areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Completion of work-related on-the-job vocational training is preferred.
• Four years of previous floor care experience is preferred.
• Ability to operate floor cleaning equipment required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general floor care activities to keep University Health facilities clean and orderly.
• Report maintenance defects to Plant Engineering Department.
• Assist the Team Leader in clean up and disposals as required.
• Identify and report spills and discarded needles/syringes.
• Maintain good interpersonal and guest relation skills.

Job description

Carries out general floor care activities essential to keeping University Health facilities clean and orderly. All work will be done in accordance with Joint Commission and Texas Department of Health guidelines. Promptly and efficiently performs assigned duties and accepts emergency reassignments. Reports all maintenance defects to Plant Engineering Department. Uses equipment and supplies as directed and follows all the instructions listed on Material Safety Data Sheets. Identify and report all chemical/solution spills and discarded needles/syringes. Assist the Team Leader in clean up and disposals as required. Complies with University Health and departmental policies and regulations. Maintains good interpersonal and guest relation skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent experience required. Completion of work-related on-the-job vocational training is preferred. Four years of previous floor care experience is preferred. Ability to operate floor cleaning equipment required.
