Job summary

University Health System in San Antonio is seeking a dedicated housekeeping staff member responsible for keeping facilities clean and orderly on a daily basis.

Work is performed in accordance with Joint Commission and Texas Department of Health guidelines, reporting maintenance defects to Plant Engineering, and following all MSDS instructions. You will identify chemical spills and discarded needles, assist the Team Leader with cleanup and disposals, and maintain courteous guest relations.

Qualifications

• Six months institutional housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment preferred.

Job description

Carries out general housekeeping activities essential to keeping University Health System facilities clean and orderly. All work will be done in accordance with Joint Commission and Texas Department of Health guidelines. Promptly and efficiently performs assigned duties and accepts emergency reassignments. Reports all maintenance defects to Plant Engineering Department. Uses equipment and supplies as directed and follows all the instructions listed on Material Safety Data Sheets. Identify and report all chemical/solution spills and discarded needles/syringes. Assist the Team Leader in clean up and disposals as required. Complies with University Health System and departmental policies and regulations. Maintains good interpersonal and guest relation skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Completion of work-related on-the-job vocational training is preferred. Six months institutional housekeeping experience is preferred. Ability to fill liquid soap, toilet paper towel dispenser and other dispensers required. Ability to operate cleaning equipment required.
