Job summary

Weaver Consultants Group is seeking a Field Technician for environmental field sampling across multiple media. This field role requires travel to sites, including extended hotel stays, with all travel expenses covered.

Responsibilities include monitoring landfills, testing soils and materials, and preparing reports for project managers. Ideal candidates hold an HS diploma with 1–2 years of relevant experience or a strong educational background (Geology/Environmental Science/Engineering).

Qualifications

• HS diploma required; associate’s in Geology/Environmental Science/Engineering preferred.
• 1–2 years of related field sampling experience preferred; strong educational background considered.
• Willing to travel out of town for projects at least 50% of the time; reliable vehicle and license required.
• Ability to follow sampling/analysis plans; OSHA HAZWOPER 40‑hour certification a plus.
• Strong communication, writing, and organization skills; able to work outdoors in varied climates.
• Lift up to 50 pounds; comfortable with field conditions and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and document construction activities at landfills with soils, liners, and materials testing.
• Perform field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
• Prepare and submit data and observations in written and digital reports to project management.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, clients, and contractors on site requirements.
• Ensure strict adherence to health and safety standards across projects.
• Support field teams, maintain equipment, and assist senior staff as needed.
• Travel to out-of-town assignments; stay in hotels as required; all travel expenses covered.
