Job summary

Clean Harbors in Detroit, MI is seeking an Environmental General Laborer to join our safety-conscious team. This field-based role performs hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials.

Required: valid driver's license, ability to perform physical work, on-call emergency response and occasional travel for training. You will attend a two-week Academy out of state; expenses are paid.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor.
• Willingness to travel for up to 2 weeks for training and assignments.
• Pass background check, drug test, and medical exam.
• Must meet respirator facial hair standards per OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety policies are followed.
• Conduct hazardous waste handling and decontamination tasks.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and use PPE.
• Assist in field sampling and calibration of meters.
• Attend compliance and safety meetings.
