Job summary

Bowman is seeking an Environmental Field Technician I to collect and compile environmental data from sites including bat and avian monitoring. The position is remote in Fort Stockton, TX, with residency near the project site during the duration of the project and a monthly housing stipend provided.

Responsibilities include operating field equipment, performing biological monitoring, documenting field notes, and executing basic data calculations under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required.
• Associate's degree in environmental science, Geology, or related field preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Geology, or related field a plus.
• Entry level position, no prior experience required. Any relevant industry-related experience a plus.
• Knowledge in the operation and use of field equipment (4x4 trucks, compass, tablet, range finder, etc.).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must hold a valid state driver's license and pass a motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

• Carefully operate field equipment and instruments.
• Perform biological monitoring.
• Identify bat and avian species.
• Generate and log detailed field notes and data collection sheets.
• Perform basic calculations related to sampling data.
