Job summary

Maryland Environmental Service (MES) has an opening for an Environmental Field Technician to join the Technical and Environmental Services Group at our headquarters facility in Millersville, MD. Responsibilities include collecting environmental samples and conducting on-site field tasks across statewide project sites.

The candidate should be familiar with field inspections, drainage compliance, stormwater management, and regulatory recordkeeping.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a standard high school or GED plus one year of environmental monitoring or construction-related experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points.

Responsibilities

• Collect environmental samples (gas, water, wastewater, groundwater, stormwater, soil) and conduct on-site field tasks statewide.
• Operate company vehicles and maintain sampling equipment and storage areas.
• Complete rigorous regulatory recordkeeping and electronic data entry.
• Log procurement and labor hours and generate activity documentation.
