Environmental Field Technician (Environmental Remediation) - Southeastern NY (Tri-State Project Sites)

Based in Whitehouse Station, NJ, this full-time remote position involves collecting environmental samples, maintaining remediation systems, recording data, inspecting landfill gas and liquids systems, conducting testing, and performing maintenance at client facilities mainly in New York and New Jersey.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Planning and executing office, testing, or field assignments independently.
2. Preparing for work, maintaining equipment, documenting services, and conducting field monitoring per protocols.
3. Operating field and construction equipment.
4. Working at landfills, hazardous waste sites, contaminated sites, and assisting with technical research.
5. Providing construction services as needed.
6. Implementing safe work practices and supporting project management.
7. Occasional overnight travel.
8. Walking long distances over uneven terrain, working in extreme weather, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
9. Passing health physicals and drug screening.

Your qualifications:

• High School Diploma with 1 year of experience; preferred A.S. or B.S. in environmental or natural sciences.
• OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred, with current refresher.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate environmental monitoring equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and learn sampling techniques.
• Experience with landfill gas systems and heavy equipment operation is a plus.

Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, and working in PPE, with vision and physical fitness requirements outlined.

Work environment involves outdoor and indoor settings, with potential hazards and PPE use. Contingencies include background checks, driving record evaluation, drug screening, and medical exams. Pay ranges from $24-$27/hour plus overtime.
