Job summary

EFI Global in Los Angeles is seeking an environmental field technician to support field investigations and environmental due diligence projects. You will work with scientists, senior field technicians, and forensic experts on site, collecting data, taking notes, photos, and assisting with reports.

The role emphasizes following established methodologies, maintaining client relationships, and collaborating with contractors.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in environmental science, Microbiology, Industrial Hygiene, or related science preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with clean driving history.
  • OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fieldwork for due diligence and hazardous inventory service lines.
  • Documents and maintains billable hours on a time and expense basis for external clients.
  • Gathers detailed notes and photographs of site observations during fieldwork.
  • Prepares inspection reports based on scientific findings and scope of work per project.
  • Follows industry standard methodologies for service performance.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors and prospects.
  • Assists and observes contractor work and interacts with clients and subcontractor representatives.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To provide field services and collaborates with scientists, Sr. Environmental Field Technicians, and forensic experts on environmental investigation projects to provide consulting services to clients regarding environmental due diligence issues in accordance with assignments from clients or assigned legal counsel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS And RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform fieldwork for due diligence and hazardous inventory service lines.
  • Documents and maintains billable hours on a time and expense basis, as applicable, for services rendered for external clients.
  • Gathers detailed notes, takes photographs of site observations during fieldwork.
  • Prepares inspection reports based on scientific findings and scope of work per project.
  • Follows industry acceptable methodology for performance of services.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors and prospects.
  • Assists and observes contractor work on projects and interact with clients and contractor or subcontractor representatives accordingly.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports the organization's quality program(s).
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & LICENSING
  • Associate's degree in environmental science, Microbiology, Industrial Hygiene, or related science from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving history.
  • OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training is preferred.
EXPERIENCE

High school diploma and two (2) years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required.

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is ($26.00-$30.00 USD hourly).
