Job summary

Vertex Resources Services Inc. is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to join our team in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

You will support environmental projects in the oil and gas sector across North America, providing field assistance, report writing, and coordination with clients and teams. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies/related field, understands environmental regulations, and communicates effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental field as listed; knowledge of environmental regulations.
• Willing and able to travel.
• Experience in field and office environments preferred.
• Strong environmental writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical field support on environmental projects within the oil and gas industry across North America.
• Support includes spill response, permitting, monitoring, remediation, reclamation, groundwater assessments, regulatory submissions, drilling, and air services.
• Provide field technician support including GIS mapping, soil sampling, lab chain of custody, and water sampling; contribute to both field and office execution of projects.
• Perform other duties as needed.

OVERVIEW

Vertex Resources Services Inc. is currently accepting applications for an Environmental Field Technician to workin Carlsbad, New Mexico.

The successful candidate will bring an understanding with basic practical experience with field work, report writing, client relationships and project coordination.

The Environmental Field Technician will assist our environmental team in conducting environmental projects primarily within the oil and gas industry across North America.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, geology, ecology, biology, or closely related field
• Understanding of the environmental consulting industry
• Knowledge of upstream oil and gas, and infrastructure is an asset
• Understanding of technical and/or field experience preparing environmental documentation
• Experience working in field and office environments an asset
• Knowledge of applicable environmental and energy sector regulations, standards, and codes
• Strong environmental writing and communication skills
• Proficient MS Office experience (Word, Excel)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willing and able to travel

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide technical field support on environmental projects within the oil and gas industry of the United States. Project types include but are not limited to:

• Spill Response
• Environmental Planning & Permitting
• Environmental Monitoring & Inspection
• Remediation
• Reclamation
• Water Well & Groundwater assessments
• Regulatory Submissions
• Drilling Services
• Air Services

Provide field level technician support including:

• GIS Field Mapping Tools
• Soil Sampling
• Lab Analysis - Chain of Custody
• Water Sampling
• Responsible for both field and office execution of environmental projects with an emphasis on field work
• Perform other duties as needed
