Job summary

Sterling Labs, an environmental laboratory serving DoD and commercial clients, seeks an Environmental Field Technician to perform wastewater, groundwater, leachate, stormwater, soil, drinking water, and surface water monitoring. Upon training completion, you’ll work on projects across the Midwest under supervision of the Groundwater and/or Wastewater Field Manager.

The role demands safe, accurate sample collection, data integrity, and adherence to EMT policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; field experience is a plus.
• Ability to operate field equipment safely and follow SOPs.
• Strong data recording and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains quality standards per EMT SOPs and relevant sampling standards.
• Perform water quality monitoring using field instrumentation.
• Collect samples from wastewater, groundwater, leachate, stormwater, soil, surface water and drinking water.
• Troubleshoot flow measurement and sampling equipment.
• Document accurate and defensible data and ship samples as needed.
• Travel to client facilities and work weekends on a rotating basis.
