Job summary

Univar Solutions is hiring an Environmental Field Technician I in Hillsboro, OR. You will act as a Waste Technician at customer sites, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring compliance with RCRA, DOT, and EPA regulations for hazardous waste handling.

You will perform site inspections, prepare documentation, coordinate waste sampling, and work with teams to improve service while maintaining safety and adherence to PPE protocols. Training and potential endorsements may be pursued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Background in chemistry, biology, environmental science preferred.
• 1–3 years of related operations experience preferred.
• Knowledge of RCRA, DOT, and EPA regulations through work experience.

Responsibilities

• Work safely with goal of no incidents or accidents.
• Prepare or confirm accuracy of paperwork for shipping hazardous waste.
• Complete site inspections and audits.
• Coordinate waste sampling and referrals to TSDFs.
• Collaborate with leaders and teams to improve processes and service.
• Adhere to safety training and PPE requirements.
• Perform equipment maintenance as needed, indoors or outdoors.
