Republic Services, Inc. is seeking a Field Technician to respond to scheduled and Emergency Response Calls for cleanup, spills, COVID, and HazMat decontamination. You will work under supervision to remediate hazardous waste while prioritizing health and safety and following all protocols.

Expect rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with potential travel. You must read and follow written instructions, pass pre-employment screening, and be able to obtain TWIC clearance.

Responsabilidades

• Perform hazardous waste remediation under supervision.
• Ensure safety policies and PPE are followed; work under adverse conditions.
• Performs confined space entry, high pressure washing, equipment handling, and general site cleanup.
• Be available for rotating shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays; on-call as scheduled.
• Possible out-of-town travel depending on project needs.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of the position is to ensure that scheduled and Emergency Response Calls are answered in a timely manner Field Technicians are responsible for clean ups, spills, COVID and Hazmat Decon work and other duties delegated by management that are within the scope of work.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform work under the direct guidance of a Supervisor or Foreman involving the remediation of cleanup regarding hazardous waste and materials.
• Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
• Daily work will involve confined space entry such as manholes, tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping and shoveling, high pressure washing and various other remedial activities.
• Ability to work a rotating shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• “On-Call” based on the rotating “On-Call” schedule for Emergency Response.
• May require out of town travel.
• Length of travel will be dependent on service center and on-going projects
• Ability to work under adverse conditions (heat & cold)
• Physically able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary and lift > 50lbs routinely
• Accountability and punctuality
• Preforms other, related tasks as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Pass a Pre-Employment Physical, Drug Screen and Alcohol testing
• Pass a Pre-Employment Background Screening
• Pass the Company's Auto Insurance Qualifiers
• Pass the OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training
• Must be able to obtain Transportation Worker (TWIC) clearance.
• This may not be applicable to all divisions.
• If required, must get within first 45 days of employment
• Able to read, write, and understand the English language, and able to follow verbal and written instructions

Sustainability Innovation

Republic’s recent innovations to advance circularity and decarbonization demonstrate our unique ability to leverage sustainability as a platform for growth. The Republic Services Polymer Center is the nation’s first integrated plastics recycling facility. These innovative sites process rigid plastics from our recycling centers, producing recycled materials that promote true bottle-to-bottle circularity. We also formed Blue Polymers, a joint venture with Ravago, to develop facilities that will further process plastic material from our Polymer Centers to help meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging. We are building a network of Polymer Centers and Blue Polymer facilities across North America. Our customers are increasingly looking for decarbonization solutions, and we are leveraging our network of landfills to meet that need.

Republic is committed to harnessing landfill gas, a natural byproduct of decomposing waste, and converting it to energy. Republic has partnered with renewable gas developers to construct Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) plants at our landfills, expanding beyond the 77 projects we currently have to make progress towards our goal to beneficially reuse 50% more biogas by 2030 (2017 baseline year).
