Job summary

HNTB is seeking an environmental scientist to support field investigations and ecological studies for transportation projects across multiple sites. You will collect data, set up equipment, and prepare analyses and reports to support findings.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, strong data interpretation skills, and commitment to safety. You will collaborate with senior scientists and stay current with ecology trends and environmental science developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Archeology, Anthropology, or related field
• Analyzes and summarizes data accurately
• Assists field investigator to assess habitat characteristics
• Exercises safety procedures and best practices in the field
• Learns established analytical methods

Responsibilities

• Follows established methods to assist in research and field investigations
• Sets up test equipment to obtain scientific data
• Prepares data analysis, reports, maps to support findings
• Assesses potential environmental effects of construction projects
• Maintains administrative records and project files
• Keeps current with trends in ecology and environmental science
• Assists team in production of project deliverables
• Performs other duties as assigned
