Bluebird Environmental Services, LLC. is seeking an Environmental Field Scientist to perform fieldwork supporting environmental assessments, monitoring, abatement, and remediation projects.

You will collect samples, maintain equipment, document field activities, and help ensure regulatory and client requirements are met. You will coordinate with clients and site personnel, write environmental reports, and uphold safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a science discipline or related coursework.
  • 2+ years of environmental field experience.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulatory compliance and sampling.
  • Strong organization and documentation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a physical evaluation.
  • Ability to work outdoors in variable weather and conditions (including heights and confined spaces).

Responsibilities

  • Assess and investigate hazards in environmental science.
  • Collect environmental samples per procedures and chain-of-custody.
  • Conduct site inspections and environmental monitoring; document findings.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain field and lab equipment.
  • Record field data and submit documentation promptly.

  • Write and review Environmental Reports for clients.
  • Follow safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

The Environmental Field Scientist is responsible for conducting fieldwork to support environmental assessments, monitoring, abatement, and remediation projects. This role involves collecting and documenting environmental samples, maintaining field equipment, writing environmental reports, and assisting project staff to ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assess and investigate various hazards associated with environmental science, including building science and industrial hygiene.
  • Collect environmental samples in accordance with established procedures and chain-of-custody requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections and environmental monitoring activities; documenting conditions and findings.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain field and laboratory instruments and sampling equipment.
  • Record accurate field data, prepare daily field logs, and submit required documentation promptly.
  • Coordinate with clients and onsite contractors in conjunction with Bluebird leadership.
  • Write and review Environmental Reports to be sent to clients.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and applicable environmental regulations.
  • Obtain and keep current all essential training certifications and licenses.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree – Preferably in a science discipline or college-level coursework in
  • related fields.
  • 2+ years of environmental field experience in related fields.
  • Advanced knowledge of environmental regulatory compliance, sampling, and
  • monitoring; including scientific processes and measurements.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work outdoors in variable weather and site conditions, including at heights
  • and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to act autonomously, performing job duties with minimal oversight.
  • Basic computer skills, including use of word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a physical evaluation to evaluate fitness to perform job duties.
