Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking an Environmental Assistant Staff Project Manager in the Chantilly, VA area. The role provides foundational experience in environmental consulting through fieldwork, data collection, and project coordination under supervision.

Responsibilities include sampling investigations, remediation system support, UST assessments, and report preparation while collaborating with staff and clients to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Civil/Environmental fields or related degree.
• 0 years of related experience.
• Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS subsidiaries.
• Basic knowledge of environmental principles and applications.
• Basic knowledge of environmental permitting processes, regulations, and test methods.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Team-oriented approach and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Ability to work outdoors and lift field equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with groundwater, soil, and media sampling investigations.
• Support boring layouts and assess site access with oversight.
• Assist remediation system installation, operation, and maintenance.
• Support UST assessments and field observations.
• Document site conditions and communicate findings to supervisors.
• Participate in project meetings with senior staff.
• Interface with contractors, clients, and site personnel during field activities.
• Communicate daily with project teams and update on site conditions.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and oversight of environmental technicians.
• Support project setup and implementation under supervision.
• Collect, document, and report field observations accurately.
