Job summary

TRC is seeking highly motivated Environmental Interns for our Summer 2027 intern program out of our Boston, MA Office. This is a paid full-time position with an anticipated June–August 2027 schedule (flexible) and potential transition to a full-time role after graduation.

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders, partnering with engineers, scientists, and technologists on diverse projects, performing data tasks, and supporting field and design

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver''s license.
• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possesses solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, detail orientated person.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Experience with engineering software applications (AutoCAD, Mathcad, ESRI, Hydro Cad, Water Cad, ArcView GIS, etc.) is preferred but not required
• OSHA 40-hour safety or 30-hour OSHA safety training preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support various project tasks including regulatory requirements/review estimates, research, procurement support, etc.
• Perform data entry, data management, data evaluation, and data presentation
• Field assistance with groundwater sampling, soil sampling, soil vapor sampling, ecological risk assessments etc.
• Field work oversight such as soil excavation, remediation, due diligence inspections, etc.
• Perform engineering calculations and design assistance for government, commercial, and industrial properties as needed.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary.
