Clean Harbors in Caseyville, IL is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist CDL Driver (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste in accordance with Federal/State/Local regulations and our company policies and procedures. This position will work both indoors and outdoors at plants, labs, customer sites, and are responsible for assisting with lab packs within customer facilities, household hazardous waste (HHW) collections, and lab moves. This is a customer-facing position, working at customer sites daily.

Responsibilities
- Ensure health and safety by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and procedures, acting safely at all times
- Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restriction notifications
- Inspect staging, accumulating, and storage areas for proper housekeeping and compliance
- Inspect storage areas and drums for leaks, spills, and proper labeling
- Collect, segregate, and properly package waste chemicals for disposal, maximizing efficiency and compliance
- Perform jobs at customer locations, including Fortune 500 companies
- Finalize and approve projects before shipment, following OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company policies
- Conduct projects in accordance with site-specific regulations and safety plans
- Understand and adhere to customer-specific disposal restrictions and packaging requirements
- Sample and profile new waste streams or waste requiring analytical testing
- Verify drum counts and conditions for shippability per company policies
- Follow all local, state (provincial), and federal regulations and rules
- Operate vehicles safely according to U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial), and federal requirements
- Observe all corporate and environmental health and safety guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Driver's license
- Strong customer service skills
- By position, obtain a CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsements within 6 months
- Ability to perform physical functions as required
- Successful completion of background check, drug test, and physical as per position
- Meet facial hair standards per OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.134
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree in Chemistry or Natural Science
- Experience in Environmental Services such as remediation, abatement, or spill response
