Job summary

Precise Systems seeks an Analytical and Physical Chemist to support hazard assessments of emerging hazardous compounds. The role emphasizes chemical analysis of environmental samples, including GC, GC-MS, LC-MS, and LC-MS/MS, with a focus on vapor pressure, solubility, and other properties. In-person work at our Maryland facility is required.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Environmental/Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, or closely related field.
• 3-5 years of practical laboratory experience.
• Hands-on experience with vapor pressure measurement methods, mass spectrometry, GC, and LC.
• Proven experience in sample preparation for complex matrices.
• Strong documentation and SOP drafting skills.
• Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in research programs to meet program goals.
• Perform instrumental analyses of known and suspected toxic compounds.
• Analyze samples from vapor, soil, water, and tissue for target compounds.
• Maintain laboratory procedures, SOPs, and test plans.
• Support laboratory management, inventory, and waste-disposal.
• Prepare monthly progress reports and communicate with stakeholders.
