Qualifications

• One year of experience in environmental engineering and a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate (or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or in any engineering field with 9 credits in environmental engineering.
• Applicants will be considered to meet educational requirements within 3 months of graduating.

Responsibilities

• Permit Review: Examine applications for wastewater discharge and Clean Streams Law permits to assess compliance
• Plan Evaluation: Analyze engineering plans and specifications for sewer systems, pump stations, and treatment facilities
• Stormwater Oversight: Track stormwater submissions and review materials for combined sewer systems and municipal programs
• Policy Communication: Provide information on department policies, procedures, permits, and water protection standards
• Data Management: Input and update required information in electronic systems to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Issue Resolution: Identify challenges in permit materials and suggest solutions to supervisors
