Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Environmental Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to work from the Oakland, CA or Rancho Cordova, CA offices. The 12‑week internship, starting May 17, 2027, offers exposure to real projects alongside senior staff and mentorship through the Developing Professionals Network.

Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Environmental Engineering program, 18 or older, and authorized to work in the U.S. There is no housing assistance provided.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Environmental Engineering program, Aug 2027 or later.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Strong interest in environmental engineering and project work.
• Able to communicate clearly with engineering and non‑engineering audiences.
• Able to follow directions from mentors and managers.
• Proficient with basic technical writing and office tools.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental engineering tasks to develop technical and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of environmental engineering and document findings.
• Assist with project research, field work, and technical reporting for compliance projects.
• Collect and maintain project notes, meeting minutes, and SOPs.
• Complete training on assigned tasks and follow code of conduct.
