This senior role requires a BS in safety/environmental field, 10 years of EHS experience on construction sites, and credentials such as NYSDEC QEP and OSHA HAZWOPER.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, OSH, EHS, or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of EHS experience in construction environments with on-site field operations.
• Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) credential recognized by NYSDEC.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Experience with hazardous waste management, spill prevention and remediation.
• Knowledge of stormwater, soil management and environmental permitting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental impact assessments and site evaluations related to civil construction projects.
• Develop, implement, and monitor environmental management plans (EMPs) to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and execution.
• Monitor air, water, soil quality, and waste management on construction sites to prevent contamination and pollution.
• Prepare environmental reports, documentation, and permit applications required for construction projects.
• Identify potential environmental risks and provide recommendations for mitigation measures.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to environmental policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the development and delivery of environmental training programs for construction teams.
• Stay updated on environmental laws, regulations, and best practices related to civil construction.
• Support sustainability initiatives and the use of green technologies in construction projects.
