Job summary

Frontier-Kemper-Tutor Perini JV in New York, NY seeks an Environmental Engineer to support the Manhattan Tunnel Project. You will conduct environmental assessments, develop EMPs, and collaborate with engineers and contractors to integrate environmental considerations into planning and execution.

The role requires a BS in Environmental Engineering, 5+ years of construction EHS experience, a NYSDEC QEP credential, and OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER. On-site work with reporting and regulatory duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of demonstrated EHS experience in construction environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field
• Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) credential recognized by NYSDEC
• OSHA 40‑Hour HAZWOPER certification
• Experience with hazardous waste management and spill prevention
• Knowledge of stormwater management and environmental permitting requirements

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental impact assessments and site evaluations for civil construction projects.
• Develop, implement, and monitor environmental management plans (EMPs) to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate environmental considerations into planning.
• Monitor air, water, soil quality, and waste management on sites.
• Prepare environmental reports, documentation, and permit applications.
• Identify environmental risks and provide mitigation recommendations.
• Perform site inspections and audits for regulatory adherence.
• Assist in environmental training for construction teams.
• Stay updated on environmental laws and best practices.
• Support sustainability initiatives and use of green technologies.
