Job summary

Dyno Nobel is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join the commissioning and startup of a new TNT manufacturing plant. You will develop mass balances, lead Title V permitting, and drive emissions inventory improvements as the site builds its environmental program.

The role requires strong analytical skills, onsite work five days a week, and the ability to mentor other engineers while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and company standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of environmental engineering in industrial manufacturing.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in mass balance development, emissions calculations, and process modeling.
• Working knowledge of water/wastewater treatment systems and pollution control technologies.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience with RCRA hazardous waste programs, emergency planning and Clean Air and Clean Water Act preferred.
• Ability to work onsite 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Develop material mass balances for new processes to support emissions inventories.
• Lead Title V air permitting activities, including emissions calculations and permit modifications.
• Oversee NPDES wastewater discharge compliance and sampling plans.
• Manage industrial sewer discharge permits and pretreatment compliance.
• Serve as primary technical contact during regulatory inspections and agency communications.
• Mentor engineers on environmental regulations and process systems.
• Transition to long-term site environmental leadership after commissioning.
