Job description

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES), an industry leader known for excellence in environmental consulting, engineering, compliance, and technical field services, is seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to support environmental remediation projects in Southern California. The position is remote-based, located in Los Angeles or Orange County.

Position Expectations:

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare remediation plans and specifications to identify appropriate environmental solutions.
  • Design remedial systems for smaller projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
  • Oversee installation, operation, and maintenance of remedial systems, including field work orders, system evaluations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and ensuring permit compliance.
  • Perform routine to advanced remedial system operations & maintenance, troubleshooting, optimization, and monitoring/sampling activities.
  • Supervise subcontractors and perform field activities related to remediation, such as trenching, piping, and electrical installations.
  • Assist with project proposals and cost estimates for moderate-sized projects.
  • Coordinate and oversee construction activities for smaller system installations.
  • Serve as the engineering resource for smaller projects and support senior engineers on larger ones.
  • Plan, prepare, and conduct pilot tests to inform field decisions.
  • Prepare quarterly reports for regulatory agencies.
  • Work in the office or field as needed to support project requirements.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Civil, Mechanical).
  • 4-10+ years of related experience; experience in Oil & Gas or industrial sites is a plus.
  • Excellent technical writing, decision-making, and time management skills.
  • E.I.T. or P.E. certification in California is a significant advantage.
