Hours of work: Mondays - Fridays, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 40 Hrs / Wk - Work outside normal hours is to be expected . Must be available outside normal hours as needed.
The Environmental Engineer II is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental and transportation regulations while managing all aspects of the site's environmental program. The role is heavily focused on day-to-day environmental compliance and operational oversight, which comprises the majority of responsibilities, including air permitting, wastewater, stormwater, and hazardous waste management. In addition, the Environmental Engineer II supports regulatory reporting and documentation, dedicating a significant portion of time to preparing and submitting required environmental reports such as SARA, DMRs, air certifications, and hazardous waste reports. The role also contributes to the development of environmental procedures and employee training, while providing ongoing support for broader Environmental, Health, Safety, and Responsible Care initiatives. The Environmental Engineer II reports directly to the Big Sandy Plant Environmental Health & Safety Manager, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Plant Manager and Regional Center of Excellence (COE).
