Job summary

NYS Department of Environmental Conservation in the Adirondack Park region is seeking a Professional Engineer 1 to help implement federal and state air pollution control programs, protecting air quality and supporting climate change initiatives. You will collaborate with engineers, biologists, foresters, DEC staff, and other programs in a regional office.

Qualifications

• Must hold a New York State Professional Engineer license and current registration.
• Bachelor’s or higher in engineering with relevant field.
• Experience with air pollution regulations and compliance expected.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of federal and New York State air regulations, policies, and guidance.
• Develop Title V and Air State Facility permits and registrations based on reviews.
• Review analyses of greenhouse gas emissions and facility impacts.
• Conduct field inspections and complaint investigations of air emission sources.
• Review compliance certifications and monitoring reports; enter data into the DEC Air Facility System.
