Job summary

Gopher Resource is seeking an Environmental Engineer to ensure regulatory compliance at our secondary lead recycling facility. You will engage operations teams and regulators, work across multidisciplinary groups, and report to the site Environmental Director.

This role emphasizes independent work with moderate supervision. Responsibilities include incident reporting in Intelex, audits and recordkeeping, data analysis, and preparation of emissions and hazardous waste reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related field.
• 3+ years in an environmental compliance role in manufacturing or consulting.
• Experience coordinating with regulators and on-site contractors.

Responsibilities

• Own the environmental incident reporting and investigation system using Intelex.
• Coordinate environmental testing, audits, inspections, and recordkeeping.
• Stay current on environmental control technologies and best practices.
• Analyze data to identify environmental performance improvement opportunities.
• Prepare regulatory compliance reports (emissions, air monitoring, GHG, hazardous waste).
• Review technical reports and extract key actions for the site team.
• Engage regulators and work with consultants on regulatory changes.
• Support training with updated environmental documentation.
• Respond promptly to business needs and regulatory requirements.
