Job summary

Client Growth Resources, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks an Environmental Engineer to review and guide regulatory compliance, and oversee the company’s environmental performance. You will lead strategy development and coordinate compliance programs across the enterprise.

The role requires 10+ years in environmental compliance, strong regulator relations, and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly. Travel up to 50% is expected, with relocation available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental or safety engineering; graduate degree preferred.
• 10+ years of environmental compliance experience including EPA & OSHA in multi-site manufacturing.
• Proven ability to work with regulatory agencies to manage inquiries and actions.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead, influence and implement corrective actions.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of company environmental strategy and initiatives.
• Lead communication of environmental performance, programs, and initiatives at Corporate HQ and with external stakeholders.
• Develop and lead Corporate environmental training programs.
• Responsible for environmental compliance policies and procedures, including management system policies.
• Execute assurance/audit programs for environmental compliance.
• Lead and/or participate in investigation of environmental incidents, implement system improvements to reduce potential for future events.

Job description

Reporting to the Director, Environmental Center of Excellence, theEnvironmental Engineeris responsible for reviewing and providing guidance & leadership related to company environmental compliance. This individual will have a strong knowledge of environmental regulatory compliance and will be responsible for overseeing the environmental performance of the company and ensuring that compliance with environmental legislation is met.

Essential Functions

• Lead the development and execution of company environmental strategy and initiatives.
• Lead communication of environmental performance, programs, and initiatives at Corporate HQ and with external stakeholders.
• Develop and lead Corporate environmental training programs.
• Responsible for environmental compliance policies and procedures, including management system policies.
• Execute assurance/audit programs for environmental compliance.
• Expert knowledge of Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, RCRA, TSCA, SPCC, and other Corporate environmental policies.
• Lead and/or participate in investigation of environmental incidents, implement system improvements to reduce potential for future events.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental or safety engineering or similar discipline. Graduate degree preferred.
• 10+yearsof environmental compliance experience including EPA & OSHA; multi-site experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work with regulatory agencies to manage inquiries and actions.
• Excellent communication & problem-solving skills.
• Ability to evaluate complex compliance matters and develop corrective actions.
• Ability to engage, influence and inspire company-wide environmental objectives.

The Environmental Engineer will be expected to travel up to 50%.
